Almost two decades later Salman Khan and Govinda are said to be coming together again, this time for a powerful war drama titled Battle of Galwan. The legendary duo, who last appeared on the same screen together in the 2007 comedy blockbuster Partner, are both set to swap their comic timing for intense, dramatic avatars in this high octane film.

According to latest reports, Govinda has also joined the cast of Battle of Galwan, which stars Salman Khan in lead role. It spread across the internet extensively when one social media account under the name Inside Box Office claimed that Govinda had already started shooting his scenes for the project. The hype was further escalated when the Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, appeared on Bigg Boss 19: Weekend Ka Vaar where she and Salman spoke about his long-awaited reunion with the veteran actor of the film, making fans to go into a frenzy.

Although the makers are yet to make an official confirmation but the industry insiders insist that indeed the collaboration is underway and that it is being kept under wraps. A source disclosed, Yes, Salman Khan and Govinda are uniting in a project. The movie is at its preliminary phase, and it will see a grand reunion of this legendary couple.

The last time Salman Khan and Govinda shared the screen was in 2007, in David Dhawan’s blockbuster Partner that redefined the buddy comedy genre in Bollywood. Their electric chemistry, effortless comic timing, and energy made the film an instant hit, and with chartbuster songs that are still trending even today.

Following the massive success of the first one, the fans were so anxious to witness the duo joining their efforts once again, yet, throughout the years, multiple efforts were made to reconcile the two, without success. It turns out that 18 years later it is the fate that has led them into a reunion, just in another genre.

About Battle of Galwan

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China, a historic battle that took place at more than 15000 feet altitude in Ladakh in the Galwan valley. The movie promises to recreate the tensions, patriotism, and courage that define this real-life event, which became one of the most important border confrontations in recent history.

Alongside Salman Khan, Chitrangda Singh and Ankur Bhatia has also been added to the cast and is likely to appear in one of the lead roles, her schedule supposed to happen in Mumbai.
