Mumbai: Actress Alia Bhatt has opened up about her postpartum fitness journey, sharing how she shed her pregnancy weight naturally without crash diets or shortcuts. In an interview with Vogue, she explained the steps she took to regain her health and energy after giving birth.

Workouts Six Days a Week

Alia revealed that she began light exercises about 12 weeks after delivery, under her doctor’s supervision. She started with short walks and breathing exercises before gradually moving to yoga, Pilates, cardio, and strength training. She worked out six days a week, focusing on building consistency rather than rushing results.

A Natural Diet with Family Support

Instead of processed food or fad diets, Alia embraced wholesome, home-cooked meals rich in vegetables, fruits, and protein. Adding a personal touch, her mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor prepared gond ke laddus (traditional edible gum sweets), which Alia included in her diet for nourishment during recovery.

Taking It Slow

Breastfeeding also played a role in her weight loss, but Alia stressed that she never pressured herself to “snap back” quickly. She checked her weight only once every two weeks and reminded herself that healing and strength mattered more than speed.

Lessons from Alia’s Journey

  1. Consistency over quick fixes — daily, small steps make a difference.
  2. Value of traditional foods — age-old recipes can provide strength and nutrition.
  3. Self-care is essential — giving the body time and kindness is key to recovery.

Alia Bhatt’s approach highlights a sustainable path to fitness, blending modern workouts with traditional wisdom, and above all, patience.
