Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana: Part One aims for Rs. 65 crore on its opening day, bolstered by court protection against piracy.
Ranbir Kapoor’s highly anticipated film, Ramayana: Part One, is poised for a robust opening day at the Indian box office, with early estimates suggesting collections could exceed Rs. 60 crore nett. The film, which releases on November 5, 2026, is expected to generate around Rs. 65 crore when including 3D charges, marking a significant milestone for Bollywood.
The Hindi version of the film is projected to earn approximately Rs. 45 crore nett, while the South-dubbed versions are anticipated to contribute an additional Rs. 16-17 crore nett, with the Kannada version leading the charge at around Rs. 7.50-8 crore nett. Despite the impressive figures, the Hindi collections may appear underwhelming due to limited reach outside major metropolitan areas, particularly during the pre-Diwali period.
In a related development, the Bombay High Court has granted anti-piracy protection to the film, responding to concerns raised by Godpower Media Private Limited regarding potential copyright violations. The court issued a dynamic ad-interim injunction aimed at preventing unauthorized recording and distribution of the film. This legal measure comes as the film has a substantial budget of Rs. 2,000 crore, with the entire two-part saga reportedly costing around Rs. 4,000 crore.
Justice Madhav Jamdar acknowledged the real apprehensions of the plaintiff regarding piracy, especially following incidents of unauthorized trailer footage surfacing online. The injunction allows for swift action against infringing URLs and pirate websites, ensuring that the film’s release is protected from illegal distribution.
As the film gears up for its release, initial audience reception appears positive, which could bode well for its performance in the coming days. The next few days will be crucial in determining the film’s overall success, particularly as family audiences are expected to flock to theatres.
