Mumbai: After months of waiting, BTS have finally made a blockbuster announcement that has sent ARMYs across the world into celebration mode. The global K pop icons have confirmed a huge world tour starting in April 2026, marking their long awaited return to the stage after completing military service. But despite all this excitement, there is one big thing missing to Indian fans. India does not feature in the tour stops announced now.
The announcement was first shared by BTS on Weverse, with Live Nation soon revealing detailed venue plans and historic milestones attached to the tour. The group has already given hints about 2026 being about all music, performances, and reconnecting with fans across the globe, even before revealing the title of their comeback album.
BTS World Tour 2026-27: Dates, Cities and Historic Venues
BTS will kick off their world tour on April 9, 2026, with three shows at Goyang Stadium in South Korea. From there, the group will travel across five continents, covering 34 regions with a total of 79 shows. More cities are expected to be added later.
The tour will include major stops in Asia, North America, South America, Europe, and Australia. BTS will also have two concerts at the Tokyo dome, a legendary arena in Japan. Their North American tour has 12 cities and 28 concerts with Tampa, El Paso, Mexico City, Stanford, Las Vegas, East Rutherford, and others. The North America tour will conclude with four concerts in Los Angeles.
Live Nation has highlighted several historic achievements tied to the tour. BTS will deliver the first and largest headline K pop concerts ever held in El Paso at Sun Bowl Stadium and in Foxborough at Gillette Stadium. They will also become only the second musical act to perform at Stanford Stadium after Coldplay. The tour will be their first performances in Madrid and Brussels, debut in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London as well as the first K pop concerts in AT&T Stadium in Arlington and M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Live Nation claims that this will make it one of the biggest tours of 2026.
It will be the first world tour of BTS since Permission to Dance on Stage, which took place in 2021-22 with stadium residences in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. That tour was later celebrated through a live album released in July 2025, which debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200.
New BTS Album Set for March 20 Release

BTS are also about to release their fifth full length studio album on March 20, 2026, along with the announcement of the tour. The 14 track album will be their first studio release since Map of the Soul: 7 in 2020 and their first group project since Proof in 2022.
BigHit Music has described the album as a deeply personal project that reflects the members’ thoughts and experiences today. RM has recently hinted at the comeback on Weverse, telling his fans that the music is coming together and that they should all anticipate it.
The group first hinted at their return during a reunion livestream in July 2025, where RM openly spoke about how difficult the long performance break had been. He shared that the desire to return to the stage was sincere after more than three years without concerts.
Why India Is Missing From BTS Tour and Why Fans Still Have Hope

Despite the scale of the tour, India does not appear on the initial list of 34 cities. This has been a disappointment to Indian ARMYs, following a previous indication by member V who had earlier on indicated that the group would visit the country. Nevertheless, the tour poster states categorically that there would be more dates announced subsequently, with more destinations in Japan, the Middle East, and beyond.
With the tour running until March 2027 and more cities yet to be revealed, fans in India still have reason to stay optimistic. The absence of a tour name and the promise of future announcements suggest that the current schedule may only be the first phase of BTS’ global comeback.
An ARMY Member will be able to purchase a ticket presale on January 22 and 23, which will be through Weverse, and a general sale will be followed on January 24. The official BTS tour websites will provide more tour and ticket information.
For now, BTS are officially back, bigger than ever. Even if India has been skipped for the moment, the door remains open, and Indian fans are holding on to hope that their long wait may finally pay off soon.
