Raipur, December 3: India’s star batter Virat Kohli produced another commanding performance in the second ODI against South Africa, scoring a superb 102 runs off 93 balls at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. The century his 53rd in ODI cricket and 84th international hundred came at a crucial stage and anchored India’s innings towards a strong total.

Kohli, who has been in exceptional form this series, registered back-to-back ODI hundreds, following his 135-run knock in the opening match. The right-hander displayed impeccable timing and control, rotating the strike early in his innings before shifting gears in the middle overs.

A 195-Run Stand With Gaikwad

Walking in after India lost two early wickets, Kohli stabilised the innings alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad, who struck his maiden ODI century. The pair added a massive 195-run partnership for the third wicket, laying the foundation for India’s eventual total of 358/5 in 50 overs.

Gaikwad’s 105 (83 balls) complemented Kohli’s effort, with both batters dominating the South African bowling attack through sharp running and intelligent placement.
