Mumbai: The teaser of Yash starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups created massive buzz as soon as it dropped. Soon fans started decoding each frame seeking some secret hints and clues to the story. However, these new reports regarding the length of the film have spawned another set of online discussion with many believing that the film is remarkably short in relation to a project of such size.
Runtime Rumours Stir Fan Reactions
According to OTTplay, the film’s runtime is reportedly set at around 2 hours and 20 minutes. It has shocked the fans because many of them thought that the film would last a much longer time due to its size, multifaceted plot, and numerous characters. The social media is overwhelmed with responses, as one of the segments of fans criticize the runtime as being too short and recommends that Toxic can be released as a two-part film.
However, not everyone agrees. Some trade sources claim that the film’s actual length might cross three hours, especially for its international English release. This version is reportedly presented in a more Hollywood-fashion narrative structure, which might explain a more extended version. The makers have not determined the final run time, which adds to the suspense.
Multiple Characters and Two-Part Theory
The teaser strongly speculated that Yash might be portraying two or three various characters across generations. It was also noted by fans that the characters of Raya and Ticket are evident but there are other tattoos and appearances which indicate the existence of a third character. To compound the mystery, there are five top ladies and the plot appears to be too congested to be condensed into a brief screen time.
Because of this, many believe the makers may be planning a two-part rollout. But there is a catch. Yash is set to get busy with Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, where he will be seen as Ravana. His major scenes are expected to be in the second part of the epic, scheduled for a 2027 release. Due to this packed schedule, some fans feel that splitting Toxic into two films may not be practical.
A-Rated Action and Power-Packed Cast
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic marks Yash’s first A-rated film. The teaser promises intense action and graphic violence, offering a raw and gritty cinematic experience. The final cast comprises of Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, Sudev Nair and Akshay Oberoi. The film also features international actors Kyle Paul and Darrel D’Silva and Tovino Thomas is rumoured to play a major villain.
With such a massive ensemble and layered storytelling, expectations are sky-high. Whether the film turns out to be a single powerful feature or a two-part saga, one thing is clear: Toxic is shaping up to be one of Yash’s most ambitious projects yet.
