Mumbai: As Border 2 moves closer to its theatrical release, actor Varun Dhawan experienced a deeply emotional moment that has added immense meaning to the film. Varun, who is playing Param Vir Chakra awardee Hoshiar Singh Dahiya in the upcoming war drama recently paid a visit to the family of the late war hero and requested their blessings.
The actor met Hoshiar Singh Dahiya’s wife, Smt. Dhano Devi ji, and his son, Colonel Sushil Kumar Dahiya. Calling the meeting an honour of a lifetime, Varun shared pictures from the visit on social media and expressed his gratitude for being trusted with such a powerful legacy.

Sharing his thoughts, Varun wrote that receiving blessings from the family of PVC Hoshiar Singh Dahiya was an incredible honour. He further said that it gives him pride and responsibility to continue the legacy of such a gallant soldier. The heartfelt message struck a chord with fans and added to the emotional weight surrounding Border 2.


Hoshiar Singh Dahiya was the recipient of the Param Vir Chakra due to his remarkable display of courage in the Indo Pakistan War of 1971. It is not merely a role that one can play but a tribute to such a decorated soldier and the way Varun Dhawan has dealt with the family has enhanced the realness of the film.
Intense Preparation for a Demanding Role

Varun Dhawan has already discussed the intensive training involved in the preparation of Border 2. The actor had gone through rigorous physical training that involved strength training, endurance and work on mobility. Shooting at real locations such as Babina also pushed him mentally and physically, helping him understand the discipline and stamina needed in a soldier’s life.
He revealed that fitness during the shoot was not about appearance but about recovery and stamina. Varun also kept to a clean and simple diet of high protein, healthy carbohydrates and constant hydration to withstand long outdoor shoots in uneasy terrain and weather conditions.
A Patriotic Film with a Strong Ensemble
Border 2 features a powerful ensemble led by Sunny Deol, with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty playing key roles. The film also stars Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, Anya Singh, and Anyaa Singh in pivotal parts.
