Mumbai: The wait is officially over as SS Rajamouli has finally revealed the title of his next mega project starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The movie that was commonly referred to as GlobeTrotter during the period of its production, but it is now officially titled Varanasi.
The big reveal took place at a massive celebration at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where thousands of excited fans gathered to witness the moment live. The venue featured a massive screen upon which the announcement was made, and as a result, it was one of the most discussed title release events of the year.
Mahesh Babu’s First Look as Rudhra Steals the Spotlight
At the event, SS Rajamouli unveiled the character of Mahesh Babu, Rudhra, in a strong poster that immediately went viral social media. The visual title shot takes the audience on a rapid tour across multiple global landscapes before abruptly moving to Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi. Here, Rudhra is introduced in the first time, marking a strong connection to the city and its spiritual energy.
There is also a hint of a time-travel adventure in the teaser, and the tags of #GlobeTrotter and #TimeTrotter appear at the conclusion, possibly indicating that the story would be set not only in different nations but also in different periods. This gives a mythic and mystical touch to an already epic action film by Rajamouli.
A Musical Preview & Promise of a Global Release
There was also a mini musical performance at the event, which provided the fans with a preview of the film soundtrack. As the energy in Ramoji Film City reaches its highest point, the vision of Varanasi that Rajamouli has is already a big milestone in cinema.
