Mumbai: Netflix India has officially lifted the curtain on one of its most talked about films of 2026, Ikka, a gripping legal drama that brings together Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna nearly three decades after their memorable collaboration in Border. Produced by Alchemy Films and directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, the project has already created an enormous buzz after releasing the first look and teaser on February 3.
A powerful courtroom battle rooted in the past
Ikka is centered on a very personal court fight. Sunny Deol stars as an iconic incorruptible attorney who stands fearlessly in defense of justice and has a high moral code. His world is shaken when he is forced to defend a murder accused, played by Akshaye Khanna, a man whose professional life he had once destroyed in the past.
What follows is not just a courtroom fight but a clash of ideologies, guilt, and unresolved history. The movie addresses the issues of redemption, ethical weaknesses and the emotional price of doing what is right when everything is on the line. Apart from Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, Ikka features a strong supporting cast including Tillotama Shome, Dia Mirza, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Jyoti Mukerji in important roles. Although Netflix has not yet announced the official release date, Ikka is confirmed to stream on the platform sometime in 2026. Its emotionally charged teaser, well-executed performances, and the hero versus antagonist dynamic based on a common past place the time bar already high.
By the initial reviews, Ikka may easily be among the most memorable legal shows in Netflix India, with a strong combination of suspense, emotion, and ethical issues that remain with the viewer even after the final ruling.
