Mumbai: Sreeleela has raised her voice against the growing misuse of AI-generated content, especially content that targets women working in films and creative fields. Taking to Instagram, the actor posted a powerful and emotional post, asking the social media audience to cease promoting harmful AI trends that demean actresses and women professionals.
Sreeleela explained that although technology can be used to make life better, it must not be employed to hurt or humiliate anyone. She emphasized that there is a thin yet very significant border between responsible and abusive use of technology to gain attention or entertainment.
A heartfelt appeal to social media users
In her note, Sreeleela appealed directly to audiences and content consumers. She asked people not to like, to share or support AI-generated content that misleads or demeans women. She says that technology is supposed to make life easier and more meaningful and not disturbing and unsafe.
She also reminded readers that every woman, regardless of her profession, deserves dignity. Sreeleela shared that women who pursue art and cinema do so with the hope they are in a respectable and safe working environment that brings happiness and creativity.
Becoming aware of a disturbing trend
The actress revealed that due to her busy shooting schedule, she was not fully aware of what was happening online. It was only after her well-wishers informed her that she understood the scale of AI misuse targeting actresses. What she found, she told, was most disturbing and emotionally upsetting.
Sreeleela added that she is not alone and that several of her colleagues are facing similar issues. Speaking not just for herself but on behalf of fellow artists, she called for collective support and empathy.
Sreeleela stood with grace and calmness, told her audience that she trusted them and that they need to stand with women who are victims of online abuse. She also assured that the authorities will now respond to the issue indicating that there is need to be accountable and take action in that case.
