Mumbai: Actor Rashmika Mandanna has issued a strong warning to media platforms, influencers and individuals circulating a leaked audio clip that recently surfaced online. The actor said the recording, believed to be from nearly eight years ago, was shared without the knowledge or consent of those involved.
In a detailed note posted on X, Rashmika revealed that the situation had crossed a line after a private conversation was allegedly recorded and circulated publicly. According to the actor, only a small portion of the conversation has been taken out of context and widely shared online to create unnecessary controversy.
She also asserted that during the past eight years she experienced constant misinformation, harassment and targeted attacks by a part of the media as well as online audience. Rashmika claimed she was misunderstood and turned into fabricated stories to be seen and heard. She preferred to be patient and quiet, even though emotionally it has taken a big toll on her.
But this new viral clip has forced her to react since the issue now concerns her family and other individuals who are close to her.

Controversy erupts days after Rashmika and Vijay Deverakonda’s wedding
The controversy comes just weeks after Rashmika tied the knot with actor Vijay Deverakonda in an intimate ceremony held in Udaipur on February 26. Friends and relatives were present at the wedding and the couple posted lovely photos of their wedding celebrations which were immensely popular with fans on the internet.
During the wedding festivities, there was an alleged audio tape of the mother of Rashmika, Suman Mandanna that was making rounds in the social media. In the tape, she can be heard talking about the previous failed engagement of the actor with Kannada actor Rakshit Shetty.
While some online platforms claimed the clip was from an old interview, others suggested it was part of a private family conversation. Rashmika clarified that the recording appears to have been made privately and then circulated without permission.
Expressing her concern, the actor said the situation has dragged her family and people she shares cordial relationships with into unnecessary discomfort. She called it a serious invasion of privacy and a misleading narrative being spread online.
Actor gives 24 hour ultimatum
In her statement, Rashmika urged everyone sharing the clip or related content to remove it immediately. She gave media platforms, influencers and individuals a 24 hour window to take down the material.
The actor went ahead to put it that she will file a lawsuit in the event the content is not deleted within the stipulated time. This may involve serving legal notices to those individuals, digital platforms and media organisations that circulate the material.
This move, Rashmika said was not an easy decision but was now needed to defend her dignity, privacy and the individuals who were close to her. The actor concluded her message on a personal note by saying that she owes her relentless support and love over the years to her fans. She also wrote that the internet strangers cannot choose how she or those she loves live their lives.
