Hyderabad: Telugu superstar Ram Charan, widely known as the Mega Power Star, has completed 18 years in the film industry. Fans across the globe celebrated the milestone with the hashtag #18YearsOfRAMCHARANsGlory, while the makers of his upcoming pan-India film Peddi marked the occasion with the release of a striking new poster.

A new poster with raw intensity

The poster, unveiled by the production team, presents Ram Charan in a rustic avatar disheveled, rugged, and standing on a railway track. Industry watchers noted that the look hints at a raw, grounded character, quite distinct from his earlier star-driven portrayals. According to the makers, the film “promises a memorable cinematic experience” and is set for a worldwide theatrical release on March 27, 2026.

Peddi’s progress and OTT success

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi pairs Ram Charan with Janhvi Kapoor for the first time. The cast also includes Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma. The film features music by A. R. Rahman, cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, and editing by Navin Nooli.

Even before its release, Peddi has generated headlines: reports confirm that the film has struck a massive OTT deal, earning back nearly half of its budget nine months ahead of its theatrical premiere.

Legacy and celebrations

Ram Charan made his debut with Chirutha in 2007 and rose to superstardom with Magadheera, Rangasthalam, and the global phenomenon RRR. On his 18-year milestone, his father, Megastar Chiranjeevi, shared an emotional message, expressing pride in his son’s journey and wishing him greater heights.

Social media tributes highlighted how Charan has upheld the Mega family’s cinematic legacy while forging his independent path with a mix of mass entertainers and performance-driven films. The celebratory note from his team captured the mood: “From carrying a rich legacy on screen to being grounded off the screen, you’ve stood apart and paved your own path. Bigger things await starting from #Peddi.”

What lies ahead

With Peddi shaping up as one of the most ambitious projects of 2026, and with Charan’s star power expanding beyond Tollywood, industry analysts believe the next phase of his career could redefine his pan-India presence.
