Mumbai: In a heartwarming show of unity, the Bollywood film industry has come together to support Rajpal Yadav during one of the toughest phases of his life. Only days after the touching statement by the actor about his lack of friends in the industry had gone viral, a number of A-list celebrities are reported to have come forward to bail out the actor in a debt he owes of ₹9 crore in terms of debts as well as cheque bounces.
Recently, Rajpal Yadav surrendered and was taken to Tihar Jail in relation to the case, which created a shudder in the industry. The actor Sonu Sood publicly encouraged Bollywood to join hands and provide the much adored comedian with support. Soon after, a wave of help began pouring in.
Industry Extends Support After Rajpal’s Arrest
In an interview with Screen, Rajpal Yadav’s manager Goldie confirmed that many big names from the industry have reached out to offer help. He disclosed that actors such as Sonu Sood, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have given their support. Movie producer Ratan Jain, actor Varun Dhawan and filmmaker David Dhawan also contacted the family personally.
According to Goldie, several others from the film fraternity have come forward this time, and Rajpal has deeply appreciated the concern and kindness shown to him. He disclosed that actors such as Sonu Sood, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have given their support. Movie producer Ratan Jain, actor Varun Dhawan and filmmaker David Dhawan also contacted the family personally.
Goldie added that while many people have made commitments, financial arrangements take time. He stressed the importance of staying mentally strong, especially for Rajpal and his family. With family celebrations scheduled later this month, everyone is hopeful that Rajpal will be released soon and be able to return home.
The manager of Rajpal Yadav also confirmed that the hearing of bail by the actor is on tomorrow and he has high hopes that he would be allowed bail and released. The family is positive and the emotional and moral support of the industry has given the much-needed strength in these tough times.
