‘I Was Not Confident About How I Looked’, Mrunal Thakur
Mrunal, who will soon be seen playing Roshni in Do Deewane Seher Mein, shared that she battled self-image issues for years. The feeling of insecurity and self-doubt is a constant in the film as she always attempts to compare herself to her sister who is portrayed by Sandeepa Dhar. This emotional conflict struck a strong chord with the actress.
She revealed that the story instantly connected with her personal experiences. Mrunal Thakur replied that a lot of people not just girls but boys also grow up thinking that they are not good enough due to constant comparisons and cruel comments of others. This is the emotional truth that she said yes to the film nearly instantly.
The trailer shows Roshni admitting that she doesn’t find herself beautiful, a line that surprised many fans who admire Mrunal’s looks. Although the viewers referred to it as irony, the actress clarified that what the people observe as an outside does not always reflect what one feels as an inside. She has confessed that until 2025, she felt repeatedly unconfident and did not always feel that she belonged to the rigid industry of beauty.
However, she believes that changing times and shifting mindsets helped her heal. Today, she feels that beauty is about being real and comfortable in one’s own skin. She has come at last to a place where she is at peace with herself and not embarrassed by her emotions, having spent years preparing to get to this stage of her emotional growth.

Apart from self-image, Do Deewane Seher Mein also explores how young people view love and relationships today. To express her ideas about the modern romance, Mrunal Thakur claimed that as much as the current generation desires love, the hectic way of life and social media has altered the dynamics of the modern relationships. Consistency and emotional effort is usually relegated with all things becoming instant and temporary.
She feels that many young people are giving up easily, not just on love but on life’s challenges in general. Her hope is that people learn to be patient, invest emotionally, and give relationships the time they deserve.
Do Deewane Seher Mein is also a film that features Siddhant Chaturvedi in its main role and the film is directed by Ravi Udyawar. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the producer of the film, which will be released in the theatres on February 20.
