Mumbai: Recent pictures and videos of Malaika Arora partying with model Sorab Bedi sparked rumours on social media about a possible romance between the two. The speculation began after clips of them dancing and spending time together at a party went viral online. The buzz grew stronger when Sorab shared photos from the night on Instagram, though he later deleted the post.
However, Sorab has now cleared the air and said that there is no romantic relationship between them.
Sorab Bedi reacts to the rumours
Speaking about the viral chatter, Sorab explained that his bond with Malaika is purely friendship. He revealed that they met through common friends from the fashion and party circuit. Sorab says that it was the first opportunity he had to walk the ramp given to him by Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta when he was in his early modelling days. It is through them that he had begun to go to parties and social gatherings, and as such, he met Malaika. She is also close to Delnaz and Vahbiz, and therefore they became friends by default.
He was also unhappy with how people viewed the viral images. Sorab replied that people ought to be more cautious before making remarks on a woman, since speculation of a woman can impact on her mental health. This was not the first time they had partied together, he added. He claims that he has been going to gatherings with Malaika, Vahbiz and Delnaz many years.
The model also clarified that he already had images with Malaika in the past, and they did not draw attention at that time since he was not such a well-known person at that time. When he is more visible in the public eye, now, the same type of posts are being noticed and misunderstood. He also stressed that two people can simply be friends and that both of them trust each other despite the rumours.
The recent buzz began after Sorab attended a celebration at Malaika’s restaurant Sweeney Bombay. He shared glimpses from the evening and congratulated her in the caption. In one picture, the two were seen posing together, while another short clip showed them dancing, which quickly caught the attention of social media users.
Malaika Arora’s past relationships
Malaika has been previously married to Arbaaz Khan on the personal front. The couple lived almost 20 years together before parting and permanently divorcing in 2017. They share a son, Arhaan Khan.
Malaika started dating actor Arjun Kapoor in 2016 after the divorce. These two had been in a relationship over some few years and recently reports confirmed that they were no more together.
In the meantime, Niharika Tiwari had previously been associated with Sorab Bedi. In the meantime, the model made it evident that his relationship with Malaika Arora is nothing more than a friendship, regardless of what people are saying on social media.
