Mumbai: Kartik Aaryan is gearing up for an exciting 2026 with two very different films lined up, both carrying strong buzz among fans and trade circles. One of them is the much hyped comic entertainer Naagzilla where the actor will be seen as playing a shape shifting naag. Nevertheless, the movie might not come out on the Independence Day weekend as the announcement suggested.
Naagzilla release date likely to be postponed
According to industry sources, the makers of Naagzilla are considering pushing the film beyond its planned August 14 release. It is claimed that this decision is caused by the fact that the film is still in the process of shooting and that the post production work is enormous.
A source revealed that the shooting of Naagzilla is still in progress and is expected to be wrapped up only after a few more months. The post production phase will take long and will be required to spend a lot of time since the movie is hugely dependent on visual effects. The team, together with Kartik Aaryan, is not in a hurry to cut corners and compromise quality.
The source also included the fact that the makers are sure they have a special film and they are willing to work out all the details before it gets to the big screen. A new release date is currently being discussed and an official announcement will be made once it is locked.

Naagzilla is a film directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the most famous director of the popular Fukrey franchise. The film is backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain’s Mahaveer Jain Films.
This project marks several firsts. It is the first collaboration between Kartik Aaryan and Mahaveer Jain, as well as between Mahaveer Jain and Karan Johar. It is also the second film of Kartik and Karan Johar after Tu Meri Main Tera Tu Meri. The film offers a combination of comedy, fantasy and mass appeal, but has already earned a lot of curiosity.
