Mumbai: Fashion designer-turned-film producer Manish Malhotra has released the trailer of his first film Gustaakh Ishq and the buzz is incredible. Released in August, 2025, the teaser instantly caught attention because of the poetic visuals, star cast and the promise of a romance that goes beyond time. The movie will premiere in theatres on 28 November 2025.

Gustaakh Ishq has been directed by filmmaker Vibhu Puri, who known for his atmospheric storytelling and visual flair. Malhotra announced the film by expressing his lifelong love for cinema, saying that this project is “born out of passion, poetry and a celebration of love in all its forms.” It is produced under his banner Stage 5 Productions.
The Gustaakh Ishq trailer presents powerful imagery. The star cast includes Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles, and Naseeruddin Shah lends gravitas to the cast alongside Sharib Hashmi. The music is given by Vishal Bhardwaj and lyrics by Gulzar point to a high-premium musical experience. The film was originally called Ul Jalool Ishq, but it was renamed Gustaakh Ishq.
The trailer shows the story is about love and longing, “…kuch pehle jaisa…” as one of the taglines puts it. According to the trailer, the movie is a mixed bag of nostalgia and contemporary romance against the lyrical backdrop of sentimental imagery, melodramatic storytelling and heartfelt music. The massive production debut of Manish Malhotra builds the anticipation of high-style, luxe design and catchy tunes.
