Mumbai: The excitement around Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar sequel continues to build with a major official update now in place. After reports confirmed that the teaser of Dhurandhar 2 would be attached to the theatrical prints of Border 2, it has now been revealed that the sequel is officially titled Dhurandhar The Revenge. The title was also approved by the Central Board of Film Certification that recently granted the teaser of the film.
On Monday, January 19, the CBFC cleared the teaser of the sequel, with Dhurandhar The Revenge mentioned as the final title on the censor certificate. The teaser runs for a little over one minute and has been awarded an A certificate. This clearly suggests that the makers are continuing with the gritty and intense tone that made the first film a talking point. The teaser will be shown in the theatres alongside Border 2 and it will have a good visibility among the cinema going audiences.
From Sleeper Hit to All Time Blockbuster

The first part, Dhurandhar, featured a powerful ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun, and was directed by Aditya Dhar. Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar of B62 Studios produced the film in partnership with Jio Studios of Jyoti Deshpande. It narrated the tale of an Indian spy who goes undercover in a feared group with Karachi, Pakistan and the result is high stakes and explosive action.
Despite a slow start at the box office, Dhurandhar gained massive traction through strong word of mouth. As of January 18, the film has collected Rs. 879.75 crores, emerging as the highest grossing Hindi film of all time. This massive success has put tremendous demands on the sequel which is anticipated to bring the story forward on even a greater scale.
March 19 Release, Expectations Soar
Dhurandhar The Revenge is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, exactly two months from now. With the teaser already certified and a strategic promotional plan underway, the film is gearing up for a massive release. The trade experts are of the view that the sequel can once again conquer the box office and emerge as one of the most anticipated Hindi films of the year.
