Mumbai: Fresh buzz is building around Deepika Padukone and a possible international streaming debut, as reports claim that the actress may feature in season 4 of the Emmy-winning series The White Lotus. A report in Deccan Chronicle reports that Deepika is currently being considered to play in a role, alongside a very impressive international cast that includes Helena Bonham Carter and Chris Messina among others.
The magazine also indicates that season 4 will be shot in France and that the Chateau de La Messardiere in Saint-Tropez will serve as the prime filming location. The story is also supposed to unfold in parts along the French Riviera and in Paris, which further adds to the visual spectacle of the show.
It should be noted though that neither HBO nor the makers of the show have officially confirmed that Deepika was involved. As of now, her participation remains a rumour, though one that has certainly sparked widespread excitement.
A Familiar Rumour Returns
This is not the first time Deepika Padukone’s name has been linked to the globally popular series. In 2024, reports had claimed that she was in talks to join season 3 alongside Lisa. Back then there were a lot of speculations that she was not taking the project because she was pregnant. Those reports never went official but had generated colossal hype on a potential Hollywood streaming release of the Bollywood superstar.
Now, with season 4 officially in development, speculation around her casting has resurfaced, once again placing her in the spotlight for a potential role in the acclaimed show.

Created by Mike White, The White Lotus is known for its sharp satire on wealth, privilege and complex human relationships, all set against lavish holiday destinations. Each season brings a fresh set of characters, while occasionally revisiting familiar faces.
The first season took place in Hawaii, the second in Italy and season three was based in Thailand. In the case of the fourth season, it is said that the action will be set in France with the base location being Saint-Tropez. Filming is expected to begin in the spring, while the release is not anticipated before late 2026 or early 2027.
The cast line up of the rumoured cast is Helena Bonham Carter and Chris Messina, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, AJ Michalka and Sandra Bernhard, among others. The information on the storyline is being tightly under wraps.
Deepika’s Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Deepika Padukone has a major Bollywood release lined up. She will be followed by Shah Rukh Khan in the long awaited movie King directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie will go to cinemas on December 24 and it is already among the most discussed movies of the year.
Until an official announcement is made, Deepika Padukone’s reported casting in The White Lotus season 4 remains speculative. Nevertheless, the prospect of having her on board the internationally acclaimed series has provided an additional surge of enthusiasm to the fans in India and beyond.
