Mumbai: The makers of Cocktail 2 have officially kicked off the film’s promotional campaign with a big update. Actor Shahid Kapoor surprised fans by announcing that the much awaited romantic drama will release in cinemas worldwide on June 19, 2026.
Shahid revealed the news through a social media post featuring his first look from the film. In the image, the actor appears stylish in a printed shirt and sunglasses while sitting inside a car, giving off a relaxed urban vibe. The text on the poster read, “First look this Wednesday. Only in theatres. Cocktail 2 releasing in cinemas worldwide 19th June 2026.” In the caption, Shahid asked fans to head to theatres on March 18 for more details, hinting that the teaser will be unveiled on the big screen first.
As per reports, the trailer of the movie will be attached to the movie theater releases of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the upcoming movie of Ranveer Singh. It is anticipated that the strategy will assist the teaser to attract a high number of viewers at theatres, prior to its digital release.
Fans were over-excited by the comment section shortly after Shahid posted the update. The look of the actor was highly appreciated by many of the fans with one fan commenting that the Shahid Kapoor era has returned. One other comment hailed the comeback of light hearted romantic comedies in Bollywood.
First look posters reveal the film’s stylish trio
Production house Maddock Films also released character posters introducing the film’s three leads, played by Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. All the posters share a similar visual theme with a Mediterranean setting and a striking green convertible, hinting at the film’s breezy and modern vibe.
In his poster, Shahid is shown leaning casually towards the car against the seaside which makes him look like a calm but thoughtful individual. The poster of Rashmika Mandanna shows a very vibrant scene as she is observed to lean out of the vehicle taking pictures on her phone. She wears a white crochet top and pink sunglasses, and she looks free and adventurous. The poster of Kriti Sanon has somewhat mysterious tone. She is seen relaxing in the back seat of the convertible, with orange tinted sunglasses and a visible “Catch the sea” tattoo on her foot that adds a bohemian touch to her character.
While the makers have not officially revealed the storyline, reports suggest the film may explore modern relationships with a bold twist, possibly featuring a complex love dynamic among the three central characters.

As the teaser is released on March 18, and the theatrical release is scheduled for June 19, the anticipation about Cocktail 2 already grows among the fans who cannot wait to see a new spin on the modern romance.
