Mumbai: Veteran movie star Amitabh Bachchan has at last given the reason behind his absence of his Sunday ritual of meeting his fans outside his Juhu house, Jalsa. The actor posted that he was in Hyderabad with the shooting of the sequel of the blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD, officially started.

Over the years, Bachchan has been practicing the tradition of greeting fans every Sunday outside Jalsa, which has become a unique experience to the fans of various ages. Nevertheless, the actor was forced to miss the event last weekend because of his work-related circumstances.

Amitabh Bachchan Apologises to Fans, Shares Emotional Note

On 24 February, Bachchan posted a note on his personal blog to announce his absence and also posted pictures of his fans who showed up outside his home even after being informed in advance. He wrote in a touching letter how moved he was to observe the constant affection of his followers, and he even speaks of a little dog that came in the press.

The actor apologised to his fans and assured them that he hopes to be back soon for the Sunday meet. He added that work comes first, but the affection and anticipation of his fans always remain close to his heart.

Reuniting With Kamal Haasan After Decades

In addition to informing fans about the shoot, Bachchan also shared photos of behind the scenes at the sets and even some shots of him transforming into Ashwatthama. Among the best was a heart to heart talk with his co-star Kamal Haasan, their first meeting in a long time.

Expressing his excitement, Bachchan shared that working with Kamal Haasan again is special, as they last collaborated in the film Giraftar. He called the reunion memorable and said he is cherishing every moment on set.

Kalki 2 Goes on Floors, Cast Changes Create Buzz

The sequel directed by Nag Ashwin, has already gone on floors months after news reported that Deepika Padukone had abandoned the franchise. Although her character, who is called SUM-80 or Sumathi, is yet to be replaced by the makers, there are industry rumors that Sai Pallavi is currently in discussions with the makers to replace her role.

With shooting now underway and the return of iconic stars, excitement around Kalki 2 continues to grow. Fans are eagerly waiting for more updates as the ambitious sci-fi saga moves ahead at full pace.
