The film was originally planned to be released in May 2026, but has since been moved to April 10, 2026, and is one of the most anticipated summer big-screen releases. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Akshay Kumar revealed the new release date with a quirky teaser. The short clip featured a black cat scratching a table calendar opened to May, causing it to fall. When the milk spills over the pages, it is placed on April, and the cat licks the date 10, and this in a clever way confirms the updated date when the movie was released. The joking announcement was a perfect fit to the playfulness and the creepy flavor of the movie.
Soon after, the makers Balaji Motion Pictures issued an official statement explaining the reason behind the shift. They explained that it was decided to have a better theatrical window and to not clog at the box office and have Bhooth Bangla have a smoother and more targeted theatrical run.
With its new date, Bhooth Bangla will now release a week before Salman Khan’s Battle Of Galwan, setting the stage for an interesting box office battle. According to the trade gurus, the tactical change would spell success in favour of the film and achieve a clear opening week as another big release enters the theatres.
