Mumbai: Newlyweds Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda are soaking in every bit of love and blessings coming their way after their dreamy wedding on February 26. After getting married in Udaipur and spending a few days in Hyderabad, the couple just made an emotional visit to the native village of Vijay Thummanpet, in the Mahbubnagar district of Telangana renamed Nagarkurnool. The homecoming had become a huge celebration, thousands of people had come to receive the newlyweds, it was the heartwarming moment.
Rashmika Receives a Warm Welcome as the New Bride


Visuals from Thummanpet have taken over social media, showing Rashmika receiving a traditional and grand welcome. The actress was glowing in an off-white saree and red border with heavy jewellery on the temples which was an ideal match to her new bride status. She greeted the huge crowd with a folded hands, warm smiles and gentle waves as she recognized the crowd that had assembled to get a glimpse of the couple.
A decorated stage was set up in the village grounds to honour the newlyweds. While Vijay kept his look simple and casual, all eyes were on Rashmika, whose graceful presence won hearts instantly. Villagers waited patiently for hours, cheering and chanting their names, turning the visit into a festive spectacle.


In the meantime, their new house in the country was well illuminated, tents were pitched outside in order to receive the large numbers of guests that had come to bless the couple. The whole village mood was one of delight, pride and celebration.
Sacred Puja and Meaningful Traditions
As part of their visit, Rashmika and Vijay performed the Satyanarayana Vratam at their residence. This traditional puja is often conducted by newly married couples to express gratitude, seek divine blessings, and mark the beginning of a new phase in life. The couple participated in the rituals with devotion surrounded by the family elders and priests, as a sign of prosperity, harmony and blessing of life ahead.

Massive Annadanam for Villagers
One of the most touching highlights of their visit was the large-scale annadanam organised in the village. Approximately 5000 individuals were said to have been fed during the festivities. The religious event, therefore, became a village party, which united the villagers, family members, and friends.

Rashmika and Vijay were seen interacting with locals, ensuring arrangements were smooth, and personally acknowledging the love they received. The gesture strengthened their bond with the community and showcased their humility despite their massive stardom.
From Udaipur Wedding to Hyderabad Reception
Rashmika and Vijay tied the knot on February 26 in Udaipur in an intimate yet grand ceremony attended by close friends and family. The wedding included two rituals, one following Telugu traditions to honour Vijay’s roots and another celebrating Rashmika’s Coorg heritage through Kodava customs. They officially confirmed their marriage a few days earlier, fondly calling it the “Virosh wedding.”


The couple declared annadanam and sweets distribution in various cities after they returned to Hyderabad to celebrate their marriage. They will now be holding their wedding celebration at Hyderabad on March 4 which will be an invite-only event under the advice of the police and due to security considerations.
Initially meant to be a star-studded event featuring film personalities belonging to the Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada industries and political and administrative dignitaries, the guest list has since been changed to guarantee safety and smooth organization.
