Patna/New Delhi: The seat-sharing arrangement within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the Bihar Assembly elections has finally been finalized. After lengthy meetings and deliberations all alliance parties on Sunday demonstrated unity by announcing the seat-sharing formula. This election the BJP and JDU will contest an equal number of seats breaking away from the “elder brother-younger brother” role.
The announcement was made on social media by several senior alliance leaders including the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of BJP Bihar. According to the post the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will field candidates in 101 seats and the Janata Dal (United) (JDU) in 101 seats in the 243-seat Bihar Assembly.
Among other key alliance partners, Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJP-R) has secured 29 seats. Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) have been allotted six seats each.
A Message of Unity
With this seat allocation all NDA parties have sent a message of fully united and united in the elections. Leaders stated in social media posts that this decision was made in a cordial atmosphere and with mutual consent among all allies. This announcement has been welcomed with joy by workers and leaders of all NDA parties.
Under this formula both the JDU and the BJP have left some seats from their quota for their allies, compared to the previous assembly elections to further strengthen the alliance. Leaders say their sole goal is to ensure the return of the NDA government to power in Bihar with a thumping majority.
Following this announcement all eyes are now on the list of candidates which is expected to be released soon. the final decision regarding seat-sharing within the Grand Alliance is still pending.
