Mumbai: Lakshya Lalwani, who made waves earlier this year with Aryan Khan’s series The Ba*ds of Bollywood, is ready to take a major leap in his film career. According to insiders, he is headlining a high voltage action drama backed by Karan Johar. The movie, tentatively titled Lag Jaa Gale, will mark one of his biggest films so far.
The project has been quietly preparing through the year, and now the team is finally set to roll cameras.
Shoot Begins This Weekend in Mumbai
Sources close to the team confirmed that the film will go on floors over the weekend. The first schedule will be a 20 day shoot in Mumbai. All pre production work is complete and director Raj Mehta is ready to begin filming. Raj, known for Jug Jugg Jeeyo, has reportedly reworked an earlier script of his titled Deadly to shape this new action revenge story.
Interestingly, the earlier version had actor Varun Dhawan attached to it. The makers have however, now created a new cast around Lakshya.
Tiger Shroff Plays the Antagonist
In this two hero action entertainer, Lakshya will face off against Tiger Shroff. Tiger, known for his sleek action sequences, is reportedly playing the main antagonist and Lakshya’s arch rival in the film. This sets the stage for intense fight sequences and dramatic face offs between the two actors.
Janhvi Kapoor Finalised as the Female Lead
The film also brings back an unexpected pairing. Janhvi Kapoor has been finalised as the leading lady. Lakshya and Janhvi were earlier cast together in Dostana 2 when Kartik Aaryan was still part of the project. However, that film never moved ahead for her. The two now reunite in Lag Jaa Gale, giving fans a fresh on screen pair to look forward to.
A source shared that the film will not only deliver heavy duty action but also strong emotional beats. This mix of drama and action makes it one of the more exciting projects coming from Dharma Productions.
