Mumbai: Bollywood’s beloved veteran Dharmendra has finally been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai, following days of concern surrounding his deteriorating health. Amid false reports about his condition and death rumours circulating online, the actor’s family has now confirmed that he is back home and under continuous care.
In an official statement shared on November 12, the family said, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time.” They also expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans, adding, “We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”
Doctor Confirms Dharmendra’s Discharge
According to sources, a doctor from Breach Candy Hospital confirmed that the actor was discharged at 7:30 am on Wednesday morning. An ambulance carrying Dharmendra was seen leaving the hospital premises, heading towards his Juhu residence. It has been reported that the family chose to use home-based treatment which will mean that he gets full-time care at his home.
Earlier this week, Sunny Deol’s team had shared an update reassuring fans that the 89-year-old actor was stable and recovering well. His daughter Esha Deol also took to social media to shut down the false news circulating about her father’s health, urging fans not to believe unverified information.
Bollywood Celebs Visited Dharmendra at Hospital
The health scare of Dharmendra has triggered an outpouring of concern across the Hindi film industry. Some of the leading stars came and paid him a visit in the hospital to wish him a quick recovery. On Monday night, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aaryan Khan were caught on camera entering Breach Candy Hospital. Aamir Khan was also photographed making a visit the following day, a reflection of the sheer love and respect that Bollywood still has towards the veteran actor.

The He-Man of Bollywood, as he is affectionately called, has given us countless classics like Sholay and Chupke Chupke, Satyakam and Phool Aur Patthar. Last appearing in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, the actor will next be seen in Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, released in December 2025.
