Mumbai: Sony LIV’s critically acclaimed political drama Maharani is coming with its fourth season and will be released on November 7, 2025. The popular show with Huma Qureshi in the lead role as Rani Bharti is a promising series with a high-stakes plot that extends the saga to the national level rather than keeping the action limited to Bihar.
The makers have just released the trailer that teases an epic battle that will change the future of the empire of Rani Bharti. The story explores more in the chaos of power and the personal cost of ambition as Rani transitions from a state leader to a national political force.
Interestingly, the timeline of the release of Maharani Season 4 almost coincides with the Bihar elections, which gives the show a touch of real-life relatability to the gripping political narrative.
Rajeshwari Sachdev and Darsheel Safary are introduced in key roles in the new season. Rajeshwari told, “Maharani isn’t just a show, it’s a powerful narrative that reflects the pulse of politics and power. Joining this world, especially with a character that plays such a crucial role in the unfolding drama, is incredibly thrilling. The writing is bold, the stakes are high, and I can’t wait for the audience to witness the storm my character brings to Rani Bharti’s world.
Darsheel Safary, too, expressed excitement about joining the ensemble, saying, “It’s a turning point. This season dives deeper into the chaos of power, and my character walks straight into the eye of that storm. Expect the unexpected, because nothing stays the same.”
About Maharani Season 4
Now having taken over Bihar’s political sphere, Rani Bharti enters the world of national politics, in which power, ambition and betrayal burst like never before. The next season will find her in battle with one of the most powerful entities in the country. In the teaser, one even hints about the strong spirit of Rani by the assertive words, “Aur Bihar hi humara pariwar hai. Aur agar koi Bihar ko nuksaan pauchega, toh satta hila denge.”
Huma Qureshi is once again in the lead and Shweta Basu Prasad, Vipin Sharma, Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Shardul Bhardwaj, Kani Kusruti and Pramod Pathak are all back. Maharani Season 4 is a television show that is directed by Puneet Prakash, produced by Kangra Talkies Pvt. Ltd., and written by Subhash Kapoor. Maharani Season 4 will be available only on SonyLIV since November 7, 2025.
Maharani: Season 1-3.
The first season of Maharani made its grand debut on SonyLIV on May 28, 2021, and instantly caught everyone’s attention with its raw and gripping take on Bihar’s political landscape. The show was unique in its storytelling, an ideal combination of real-life inspiration and drama, which was both strong and intimate.
Moving forward, Season 2 continued the narrative in the late 90s, further exploring the world of politics, corruption, and ambition. This season was inspired by various real life events and figures, including the Shillpi-Gautam murder case, Sadhu Yadav, Rajiv Goswami, Shibu Soren, and Mohammad Shahabuddin. On July 16, 2022, the teaser followed by a very intense trailer on August 1, 2022, created the buzz before the show eventually premiered on August 25, 2022.
Season 3 followed, and it made things even more intense. On February 19, 2024, a trailer was released, and on March 7, 2024, a new season was released on SonyLIV. Similar to its predecessors, this chapter was based on actual political incidents in life, the most notable of which was the Jitan Ram Manjhi episode, which gave the drama a little bit of realism touch.
