Mumbai: Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa and has debuted well in the box office. As per the reports of Pinkvilla, the dark romantic movie had an opening of ₹8 (8.50) crore net on Day 1, marking Harshvardhan Rane’s career best opening . The Diwali holiday factor helped in the opening but the film had to cut short in terms of showcasing in major centres because of stiff competition with Ayushmann Khurrana’s Thamma.
Irrespective of the clash, the performance of the film is impressive, at least considering its tight budget and the limited distribution in one-screen and small theatre chains. According to trade analysts, better screen allocation would have helped Deewaniyat to surpass the ₹10 crore mark during the opening day with much ease. Nevertheless, this is a achievement of Harshvardhan Rane, surpassing his previous success Sanam Teri Kasam ( 1.30 crore opening in 2016).
According to Sacnilk, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat garnered 8.50 crore net on Day 1, which was a positive surprise to trade analysts. Although a slight decline will be anticipated on the working Friday, it is expected that box office revenues will increase on both Saturday and Sunday, increasing its first-week performance.
