Ahmedabad: The evening of the 70th Filmfare Awards marked a historic moment for Abhishek Bachchan. Celebrating 25 years of his film career Abhishek won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Shoojit Sircar’s “I Want to Talk.” He shared the award with Kartik Aaryan who was honored for “Chandu Champion.” As Abhishek stood on stage holding the “Black Lady” trophy his eyes clearly reflected the hard work of his 25-year journey and the joy of his dream coming true.

Emotional Speech

After winning the award Abhishek Bachchan became extremely emotional and delivered a memorable speech sharing everything from his heart. He said

This year I completed 25 years in the film industry, and I can’t remember how many times I practiced my speech for this award. It’s been a dream, and I’m very emotional today. Receiving it in front of my family makes it even more special.”

Abhishek gave a message to young actors saying

This is what 25 years of hard work and self-belief look like. So never stop believing in yourself and keep working hard.” He proudly said, “This is my first Best Actor Filmfare Award!”

Family Credited

Abhishek attributed his success to his family. He mentioned his mother Jaya Bachchan saying that she has always silently prayed for him.

The awards ceremony coincided with his father Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday and Abhishek said

I was thinking about Dad’s birthday today and what gift should I get for him. Thank you Filmfare you’ve given me a wonderful gift for my father.”

He thanked his wife Aishwarya and daughter Aaradhya saying

Aishwarya and Aaradhya thank you for allowing me to go out and pursue my dreams. I hope that by winning this award they will understand that their sacrifices are a big reason why I am here today.”

Finally he dedicated the award to two special people.

This film is about a father and daughter. I want to dedicate this award to my hero my father and my other hero, my daughter.”
