Mumbai: Streaming platform Prime Video has officially announced its next original film Mess, a comedy that promises a mix of chaos, humour and unexpected twists. The project brings back the collaboration between the platform and HRX Films, a division of FilmKraft Productions, after their earlier venture Storm.

The film, backed by Hrithik Roshan and Eshaan Roshan under the HRX Films label, is produced by Krishnan Rajesh A Krishnan under Soda Films Lab, and he also directs the film, incorporating his trademark humorously serious style of narration.

A robbery gone hilariously wrong

At the heart of Mess is an unusual and entertaining story. The movie is based on a gang of robbers who intrude into the house of a man with OCD. What starts as a mere robbery, quickly turns into an evening of insanity as the thugs begin to realise that they are the ones who are finding it difficult to survive in the situation which goes out of control.

The original screenplay has been written by American writer Paul Soter, while the adapted screenplay and dialogues are handled by Kapil Sawant. The blend of international writing and local adaptation adds a fresh layer to the film’s storytelling.

Makers promise a fresh and bold entertainer

According to Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals at Prime Video India, the film stands out for its surprising narrative and consistent humour. In his opinion, the storyline keeps the audience on the edge of their seats and provides comedic value at every twist and turn. He also emphasized the increasing collaboration with HRX Films and complimented the creative outlook of the project.

Hrithik Roshan shared that Mess continues their journey of exploring bold and unconventional stories. He stated that he believes Krishnan will be able to balance comedy with interesting stories, and that the crew is looking forward to the film going into production.

Director Rajesh A Krishnan described the film as a mix of comedy and chaos that keeps audiences on edge. He also noted that working on the script with Kapil Sawant has been a rewarding experience, and credited the producers for supporting the film’s vision.

With a quirky plot, strong creative team and a fresh concept, Mess is shaping up to be an entertaining addition to Prime Video’s original lineup.
