Mumbai: Anil Kapoor is back in a powerful action avatar with his upcoming Prime Video original film Subedaar. The makers have already spilled the beans and presented the audience with a preview of an action-packed, emotional, and socially charged story. Directed by Suresh Triveni, the film is set to premiere worldwide on Prime Video on March 5, 2026, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Anil Kapoor As Subedaar Arjun Maurya
In Subedaar, Anil Kapoor plays Arjun Maurya, a retired army soldier struggling to adjust to civilian life in a society riddled with corruption, crime, and moral decay. The teaser begins with Arjun joining a new work as a bodyguard, but he is not given respect on his age after years of service and instead he is looked down upon. During his journey in the city, he experiences goons, injustices, and lack of concern in government offices, and gradually, he comes to realise that the fight is not over.
Unable to stay silent, Arjun decides to confront the evils plaguing society. The teaser promises the action packed scenes, the emotional aspects of family life and the unhealthy relationship with his daughter, who is portrayed by Radhikka Madan. His quest is not only the struggle of right against wrong but also the struggle of honor, family, and values that appear to be fading away.

Directed by Vikram Malhotra, Anil Kapoor and Suresh Triveni under Opening Image Films in collaboration with the Anil Kapoor Film and Communication Network. The film, which is written by Suresh Triveni and Prajwal Chandrashekar, is a promise of a raw and emotionally charged story in the heartland of India.
The film has a strong supporting cast, headed by a strong supporting cast of Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Mona Singh, and Faisal Malik as well as Anil Kapoor and Radhikka Madan. The teaser highlights themes of honour, sacrifice, and inner conflict, blending mass action with heartfelt storytelling.

Subedaar will be available only on Prime video in India and over 240 countries, so the movie will get to the international audience. The trend of big budget movies going straight to OTT is reflected in the digital release.
On the work front, Anil Kapoor will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s much awaited action entertainer King, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, and others will also appear in the star-studded film, which was planned to go to theaters on December 24, 2026.
