Mumbai: Actor Tara Sutaria has strongly spoken out against what she claims is a paid and organised negative PR campaign aimed at damaging her reputation, career, and personal life. Taking to Instagram, Tara posted posts, videos and screenshots that supposedly display how influencers and meme pages were contacted with ready-made talking points to disseminate defamatory information about her after her recent public appearances.

The controversy erupted soon after Tara attended AP Dhillon’s Pune and Mumbai concerts, where she joined the singer on stage for a friendly moment. What was to be a light-hearted interaction, quickly became unknown speculation on the web, with rumors that Tara’s boyfriend, actor Veer Pahariya, was uneasy with her in the presence of the singer. According to Tara, this narrative was not organic but carefully pushed through paid PR tactics.

Tara Shares Influencer Video and Slams Paid PR

On Tuesday, Tara reshared a video posted by influencer Tanisha Malara, who claimed she was contacted by a PR agency to participate in a coordinated smear campaign against Tara Sutaria and AP Dhillon. Tanisha claims that she was offered 6,000 to produce content based on certain talking points and captions, which were provided to her.

Reacting to the video, Tara wrote a sharp note thanking the influencer for speaking up. She claimed that the campaign was obviously paid and aimed at making her image bad. Tara also alleged that derogatory captions and remarks have been spread to hundreds of content creators and thousands of meme pages, all meant to damage her career and relationship.

She expressed shock over the nature of the captions and questioned how far people were willing to go to attack her personally. Tara added that such attempts would not succeed and that she would continue to speak her truth.

Screenshots Reveal Alleged Talking Points

Tara also posted screenshots with the alleged captions and talking points that were sent to creators along with the video. These were offensive words about her personality, her past affairs and her affair with Veer Pahariya at present. According to Tara, these captions were meant to be posted urgently across platforms to shape public opinion.

The actor described the campaign as shameful and sick, stating that seeing people happy seemed to upset those behind such tactics. She urged her followers to look at the evidence themselves and understand how coordinated digital narratives work.

The Concert Video and Veer Pahariya’s Response

The scandal first started when viral videos of the Mumbai concert by AP Dhillon were published where Tara hugged the artist and even peck his cheek on stage. Viral videos showed a cut version of the same, creating the impression that Veer Pahariya was annoyed or embarrassed by the situation.

However, an unseen video later surfaced, originally shared by Orry and reposted by Veer himself. The clip also shows Veer cheering and vibing with the performance and encouraging Tara with his applause. Posting the video, Veer commented, The truth always wins (What the media will never show you) and virtually closed the door on rumoured tension. Earlier, both Tara and Veer had already dismissed the controversy, calling out clever editing and false narratives being pushed online.

A Larger Conversation on Online Harassment

The post by Tara Sutaria has prompted more discussion topics about paid PR campaigns, influencer culture, as well as the unaccountability of the digital ecosystem. There has been alarm among the users and fans over the ease by which false narratives can be created and promoted via paid content and meme pages.

The incident also comes at a time when Tara has been in the spotlight for her personal life. The actor was reportedly dating Aadar Jain, but after a reported breakup with him, she was reportedly in love with Veer Pahariya, a fact that was widely accepted by fans until the recent scandal.

By speaking out and sharing evidence, Tara has taken a firm stand against what she describes as organised online harassment. Not only has her reaction brought focus to her own life but she has also highlighted the ugly side of digital influence and paid stories within the entertainment industry.
