Mumbai: Ranveer Singh is ending 2025 on a high with the strong box office run of Dhurandhar, and the actor’s upcoming slate suggests that the momentum is only building. As Farhan Akhtar prepares to shoot Don 3 and the long-hyped post apocalyptic Pralay, 2026 is becoming one of the busiest years of his entire career.

Pralay To Go on Floors After Don 3

A report by Mid Day stated that after Ranveer Singh finishes with his schedule of Don 3, Pralay will start shooting. This Farhan Akhtar film will likely release at the beginning of 2026, after which Ranveer Singh will begin working on the zombie thriller. The shooting schedule will be finalized in January after Don 3 schedules are finalized.

According to sources, Pralay will most probably proceed to floors between July and August 2026. The delayed start has worked in the makers’ favour, giving director Jai Mehta ample time to prepare the scale and visual language of the film.

A Zombie Thriller With a Strong Thematic Core

Pralay is described as a post apocalyptic zombie thriller that goes beyond genre spectacle. The movie is said to be based on the struggle of a hero to survive, with the zombie pandemic being a metaphoric representation of social, emotional, and moral decay. Rather than relying only on shock and action, the narrative is said to focus on human choices and consequences in a broken world.

The movie will project Mumbai in the dystopian futuristic world that can be compared to world franchises such as The Hunger Games. Large sections of the city will be shown as abandoned and decayed, creating a haunting visual backdrop for the story.

Mumbai To Be Digitally Transformed

One of the key highlights of Pralay is its scale of production. According to insiders, the makers have an elaborate visual change of Mumbai in mind. Although some of the scenes in the film will be filmed in the city, much of the film will be digitally aged with artificial intelligence extensions to provide it the appearance of a post collapse city in ruins. This team will then relocate to other places where they will finish the shoot.

This fusion of realistic sets and modern technology is likely to provide the movie with a very specific visual identity, unlike against the traditional Indian thrillers.

Jai Mehta’s Feature Film Debut

Pralay also marks an important milestone for director Jai Mehta. This will be the first feature film of Jai as a single director, following co directing the critically acclaimed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story along with his father Hansal Mehta and subsequently directing the web series Lootere. The Ranveer Singh starred movie is being packaged as a big concept high-budgeted movie that has the potential to redefine the zombie genre in Indian films.

Dhurandhar Strengthens Ranveer’s Box Office Run

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar continues to perform strongly at the box office, reinforcing Ranveer Singh’s star power. The spy thriller is produced by Aditya Dhar and B62 Studios together with Jio Studios and starring Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt. The movie has earned over 364.25 crore in ten days since its release, becoming the highest grossing movies of some well-known titles in lifetime.

As Don 3 is soon to start shooting and then Pralay, Ranveer Singh is definitely going to high concept, big movie storytelling. As he balances mainstream spectacle with experimental narratives, the actor’s upcoming projects signal a bold and exciting phase ahead.
